Posts are the entries that display in reverse chronological order on your home page. In contrast to pages, posts usually have comments fields beneath them.
To write a post:
- Log in and go to your Dashboard by using the My Dashboard option on the Welcome Area of the Home Page.
- Click the Posts tab.
- Click the Add New Sub Tab.
- Type a Title for your post.
- Below the Title Window you will see a section with Upload/Insert as its heading. Click the first icon to open the Add an Image window and upload an Image.
- Click Browse and find the file on your local computer. Note that it is recommended that you make your filename “server friendly”. Make sure the filename has no spaces, apostrophes, slashes or other non-alphanumeric characters (such as $, % and &). Rename the file before uploading if it does. To preserve readability, some people replace spaces with the underline character. For instance, My File Name.txt becomes My_File_Name.txt.
- Select the file on your computer, just like you were navigating to and opening a file in a word-processing program, and click Upload. This will show the image with some additional options.
- Under Title type a short, plain-language descriptive title for the file.
- Under Description, type a slightly longer, more descriptive note about the contents of the file or image. Please identify the person or persons depicted and the name of the road, if available.
- Click the Thumbnail option.
- Without changing the other options, click the Insert Into Post button.
- You returned now to the posting area, where you can add, below the picture, any interesting comments about the persons or places depicted.
- Select one or more Categories as appropriate. Please do not modify the other selections below the post. If you dont find the right Category, dont worry; the Moderator will review your Post and will add it for you.
- When you are ready, click the Publish blue button.
